Auto-Zip
Our Auto-Zip is a unique type of zip line ride that has been incorporated in ropes course designs over the last couple of years. It is typically used as an exit element or stand alone activity mounted on a dedicated tower. It is especially suitable for areas with a small footprint where a traditional zip line may not be possible.
The Auto-Zip is a modified Auto-Belay with larger components to withstand the forces generated by a zip line rider. The Auto-Zip spools the zip line ride cable and keeps it taut. When a rider steps from the platform the Auto-Zip slowly feeds out cable line. This allows the zip line rider to drop vertically as they move along the cable horizontally. This produces a falling leaf effect as they zig-zag to the ground.
The typical run length is 100' from a 35'-45' takeoff platform. The cable slope is much flatter than on a standard zip line with the termination mount quite high.
